Invited Presentation at the Florida Flute Association Convention
Location: Augusta A/B
Musicians in today's musical climate can gain a significant advantage over their peers by having a diverse skill set. Remote recording has become increasingly common, and mastery of jazz and commercial music styles is a valuable asset. Using a three pronged approach to study jazz and commercial music, flutists can gain fluency in a broad range of musical styles which can increase their performing and teaching opportunities.
The presentation includes the performance of two original compositions, followed by a powerpoint lecture with audio examples and transcription examples. Handouts will be provided.
